A lot has happened since my last post...I should hope so as it was almost a year ago. gulp. I've been able to do a few photo shoots for some awesome friends in that time, and it's only made me want to do more.
So first up, I had the chance to spend the afternoon with some super cute girls. It was a great October day. Unfortunately a lot of the beautiful leaves were raked up before we had the opportunity to really take advantage of them...note to self for this fall...but the kids were great despite some nervousness at the beginning that I can honestly say was coming from both the kids and me.
Grace came out of her shell as soon as she started playing in our little tree. And little Hannah? Well, she is just such a ham...I don't think she has ever been in a shell!!
I loved how the photos turned out and was so incredibly grateful for the chance to work with them!
While Christmas shopping with a very good friend of mine, she was wondering what I thought would be a good gift for her parents. Me, being the photo-lovin'-girl that I am, immediately said, "Parents always love pictures of their kids!"
Now let me go on the record: I had no alternative motive in saying this. I wasn't even thinking that she would follow that statement up with a, "would you want to do it?" nor, was I thinking that it would actually come to fruition.
The weather had taken a turn for the worse, and I wasn't sure how the younger kids would hold up for a very snowy, cold afternoon of shooting. Too add a bit of adventure to the pot, the shoot was going to be a surprise for their parents and we were on a tight schedule, as her parents weren't at home and we weren't completely sure when they'd get back.
Let me just say, those kids are troopers!!! They were done up to the nines, and trampled through the snow like it was no big deal. I hadn't spent a whole lot of time with all the kids, so this was so great to be able to get to know them a bit more.
I have to say, going in to it I thought it may be a bit chaotic...with nine kids, I just assumed that chaos would go hand in hand. That afternoon was a lesson for me never to assume anything. The kids were incredibly well behaved, mature, respectful and not to mention fun!
Oh and to top off a great shoot, Mr. and Mrs. B loved the photos!! Here's a look at some of the fun we had.
That brings my exciting year to an end! I can't wait to see what the coming year (minus the 3 months) has in store for me behind the lens...and in front.
Oh and I am going to make an honest attempt at keeping up to date with this...so if you see me slacking, tell me to get my act together! :)
